Wintringham is committed to protecting its residents, clients and staff from the constant and ever-present threat of COVID-19.
As part of Phase 1a of the Australian Government’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the vaccine is now being offered to all eligible residents and staff in Wintringham’s residential aged care homes.
Two of Wintringham’s homes, Eunice Seddon and Port Melbourne Hostel, have already had the opportunity to receive their vaccines so far.
Bryan Lipmann travelled to be present for the vaccination clinic at Port Melbourne on Wednesday (10 March), where he received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“I was especially pleased to visit Port Melbourne as it had been quite a while since I had visited any of our homes because of the COVID restrictions – it felt great to be back,” says Bryan.
“However, the main reason for my visit was to be present for Wintringham’s second COVID-19 vaccination clinic.
“Along with 32 Port residents and some of our Wintringham staff, I was lucky enough to receive my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to receive this potentially life-saving vaccine, and encourage all clients and staff to get it too.”
Vaccination clinics for Wintringham’s remaining residential aged care sites will be scheduled in the coming weeks.
