The Honourable Felix Ellis MP, Tasmanian Minister for Housing, toured our Alexandra Esplanade social housing and Wintringham Hobart Residential Aged Care home in Hobart in late October, to view firsthand the excellent work our teams are doing to support older Tasmanians experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Our Tasmanian Housing & Homelessness Support and Residential Aged Care teams, housing resident Jules, along with Wintringham Chief of Staff Jane Barnes accompanied the Minister on a tour of our homes in Bellerive. During the visit, Jules shared her inspiring story of overcoming tragedy, addiction, and homelessness to become a valued member of the Wintringham community, offering hope and encouragement to others facing similar challenges.
Chief of Staff, Jane Barnes said: “Sincere thanks to Jules for sharing so much of herself for others, and to the residents of Wintringham Hobart for warmly welcoming us into their home.”
“My thanks also go to Minister Ellis for taking time to listen and see firsthand the work our dedicated teams do here. Having a home is more than just having a roof over your head, it’s about having the space to feel safe, to enjoy life, and to prosper.”
