As part of the new standards and revised 'Charter for Aged Care Rights' being introduced from 1 July 2019, we are launching an official inclusion statement to demonstrate our commitment to equality for all.
"Wintringham is committed to Equal Opportunity for all. We value and embrace differences in gender, gender identity, ethnicity, culture, ability, religion, beliefs and sexual orientation.
We are committed to the safety of our older persons and have zero tolerance for elder abuse.
We acknowledge the Indigenous people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which our services are delivered. We pay our respects to Elders, past, present and future.
Wintringham recognises that diversity and inclusion contribute to help achieve our goals and vision of ending homelessness for people aged 50-plus."
When you visit our sites and offices, you may see three small flags on our reception desks as a visual reminder that we are an inclusive organisation.
To celebrate this, our staff, volunteers and residents got together to talk about what "inclusion" means to them - you can watch it here.
The video will feature on our social media channels this week in recognition of National Reconciliation Week.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
