Federal Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care, the Hon Ken Wyatt AM MP, announced yesterday (5 March), that Wintringham has been awarded 20 bed licences and $4.7 million in capital funding to build a residential aged care facility in Wyndham Street Shepparton, which is adjacent to the existing Wintringham facility.
This funding boost is in addition to the $10 million already raised last year to build more independent living housing.
“Shepparton will soon have a full range of Wintringham services including housing, outreach, community care and now residential care,” said Bryan Lipmann AM, Wintringham CEO / Founder.
“We’re excited by the opportunity to provide secure accommodation and tailored care to 20 elderly people living in regional Victoria, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
“Work will start immediately on planning and designing our new residential aged care facility.”
