Wintringham has been selected by the Tasmanian Government to provide tenancy management and housing support services for a new 25-unit social housing complex in Hobart.
The $11.7 million complex was officially opened on 23 February by Tasmanian Housing Minister, the Honourable Roger Jaensch and will house at-risk Tasmanians over the age of 50. The units have been built with the needs of older people in mind, and are energy-efficient and accessible.
“This latest development by the Tasmanian Government is a fantastic example of not just providing housing for people in need, but a home. A home which will also provide them with long-term security, stability, care and support,” says Michael Deschepper, Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
“At Wintringham, we believe that everyone has a right to be supported appropriately according to their needs, and to live life their way.”
Wintringham will welcome the first tenants in March.
“Wintringham’s expertise lies not only in tenancy management for social housing units, but in providing tailored support to enable people to successfully maintain their tenancies, while also improving their quality of life,” said Mr Deschepper.
“We look forward to working with other service providers in Tasmania to provide the best possible tailored outcome for each and every client.
“Thank you to Minister Roger Jaensch and the Tasmanian Government for the opportunity to support the State’s newest social housing tenants.”
