Wintringham is proud to announce that we are helping over 240 people aged 50-plus secure homes across metropolitan Melbourne as part of the Victorian Government’s From Homelessness to a Home (H2H) project.
The H2H project is now underway and will provide those who were temporarily housed in hotels during the COVID-19 pandemic with long-term housing and support.
Wintringham will provide participants with homes and support tailored to their individual needs and circumstances. As part of this project, Wintringham will head lease over 117 private rental properties from real estate agents.
“A specialist team of staff have been recruited to deliver the project, and they’ve hit the ground running. The team are working hard to secure properties, manage tenancies and provide clients with the right support, clinical care and therapeutic recreation services,” says Dee Healey, General Manager Homelessness & Client Support for Wintringham.
“The combination of housing and support will mean that participants in the project aren’t just provided with a roof over their head, they’re also provided with practical help to maintain their tenancies, look after their health and engage with the community around them.
“At Wintringham, we’ve always believed that having a home is the first step to getting people back on their feet and living a good life. We are just so pleased to be part of this project and more so to be helping older people open a positive new chapter in their lives, for many of which they never would have dreamed possible.”
