It is a comprehensive review that establishes the evidence base for isolation and loneliness for senior Victorians; identifies the causes and drivers of isolation and loneliness; identifies the major impacts of isolation and loneliness on the health, wellbeing and quality of life of senior Victorians; considers the impacts of disadvantage and vulnerability on the incidence and consequence of isolation and loneliness for senior Victorians; examines the role of volunteering, both in supporting and empowering isolated and lonely senior Victorians, and identifies potential policy and program responses to mitigate the negative impacts of isolation and loneliness.
