Telford was a charming, quirky man who lived alone in his home in Deer Park. This home originally belonged to his mother; he had moved in to care for her in the late stages of her life.
Despite Telford’s unfailingly polite and charming nature, he was very isolated and had no family or friends in his final years. He lived with a great deal of physical and emotional pain after losing his wife in a serious car accident several years before.
Telford was well known to Wintringham carers and office staff as he always complimented people on how beautiful they were, even if he'd only spoken to them over the phone! He was particularly fond of “ladies” and said he did not care much for men.
He was a musician prior to his wife’s death (he said he never played again after she died). His home remained filled with reels of music and busts of famous composers. He loved to listen to Classic FM and turned the volume up loud!
Wintringham were very privileged to be able to assist this man in the last few years of his life.
One of the large apartment buildings at our Delahey independent units has been named 'Triffet Terrace' in his honour.
