Mavis Saunders was rarely seen without a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes. Her laugh was free and infectious. She was not just loved, she was adored at Williamstown Hostel where she lived out her years.
Mavis was a prolific knitter whose needles tapped long into the evening, turning out hats, blankets, baby matinee sets and scarfs for her many friends and neighbours.
Whenever she was encountered, she managed to brighten everyone's day.
For her kindness and good heart, for her sweetness and her skills, for her sparkle and her easy laugh, Mavis is a legend. We miss her still.
